Job Description

- Safely operate loaders as the primary function of the role, supporting site operations across the Mount Isa area.
- Operate heavy vehicles, including HC combinations with tipping skel trailers, when required.
- Support loading and unloading of containerised product, with upskilling provided for reach stacker operations.
- Complete all tasks safely and in line with Aurizon's policies, procedures and operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue, heavy vehicle operating guide lines, loading requirements, axle weights and adhering to vehicle specific permits.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
- Reporting of risks and hazards in the working setting.
- Ongoing training and development available.

About the Candidate

Aurizon's Mt Isa team is looking for a skilled heavy equipment operator to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. The primary focus of this role will be forklift and loader operations, with the opportunity to operate heavy vehicles when required.



A current HC licence is preferred and reach stacker training/upskilling will be provided for the right candidate.

- Loader operating experience and confidence working around mobile plant and heavy equipment.
- A current HC licence and heavy vehicle experience are preferred, with the ability to operate heavy vehicles when required.
- Reach stacker experience is highly regarded but not essential, as Aurizon will provide training and upskilling for the right candidate.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete paperwork such as pre-starts on vehicles, defect reports and other various reporting.
- Have a strong work ethic, be reliable and punctual.
- Pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
- Supply full driving history.
- Sound knowledge of fatigue management and work diary requirements.
