Overview:

The Supply Chain Excellence (SCE) Senior Transport Coordinator provides integrated operational support across transport, fleet, inventory and customer service functions for the SA Health Distribution Centre, working as an all-rounder team member across the end-to-end movement of product from the Distribution Centre (DC) to Local Health Networks (LHNs).

The role is the primary operational point of contact with contracted carrier Cochrane's, coordinating route optimisation, delivery scheduling and service performance, and administers the fleet booking system to ensure efficient, on-time vehicle allocation across the transport network.

The role supports inventory and demand planning by contributing operational and delivery data to forecasting and stock positioning decisions, and provides frontline logistics and customer service support to LHNs and internal stakeholders, resolving delivery queries and escalating issues outside established parameters.

The role contributes to continuous improvement by using operational, transport and fleet data to identify trends, highlight inefficiencies and support optimisation of the DC-to-LHN distribution network.

Operating under general direction, the role works autonomously within defined procedures, exercising judgement on routine operational matters and escalating matters outside established parameters. The role is an integral team member with genuine influence over how product moves from the DC to LHNs, and offers scope to grow into broader logistics, planning and carrier-management responsibilities over time.
