The ECQ is looking for a versatile, multi-skilled and motivated person. The successful candidate will help to develop and deliver priority and high-profile work in electoral regulation for Queensland.

If successful, you will play a key role in promoting the ECQ’s regulatory function in relation to political financing regulations. You will communicate directly with candidates for elected state and local office, elected officials (including councillors, mayors and Members of Parliament), registered political parties, donors, and other election campaigners and participants.

Your work will primarily relate to the 2028 State and local government elections, including periods leading up to and following the start and end of the election period.

You may also be required to work on any state or local by-elections may be held during your time with the ECQ.

Your contribution

As a Principal Stakeholder Communications Officer within the Funding, Disclosure and Compliance Division you will:

- Lead the strategic review, development and ongoing maintenance of educational materials, including web content, fact sheets, videos, email communications and user guides, to ensure accuracy, consistency, accessibility and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of regulatory material, ensuring accessibility and design best practice are consistently applied for a range of audiences.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) internally and externally with a view to delivering engaging face-to-face and / or online (pre-recorded) webinars, including producing quality materials.




- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including registered political parties, election candidates, donors and the public, to promote understanding of electoral laws and support compliance
- Manage the development and ongoing maintenance of agile mailing lists using electronic direct mail software, ensuring data integrity, audience targeting and effective communication outcomes.
- Develop and implement an editorial schedule in consultation with other business units within the ECQ to ensure stakeholders are kept informed and have the maximum opportunity to self-educate.
- Contribute to client focused teamwork by working cooperatively and collaboratively with all team members to achieve effective outputs with a focus on high-quality customer service.
- Provide clear and influential communication by confidently presenting key messages, translating complex information and supporting informed understanding and action.
- Understand the desired audience and tailor key messages to deliver presentations or represent the Funding, Disclosure and Compliance Division and the ECQ at internal and external forums.

- Provide leadership that supports team cohesion, wellbeing and capability by promoting a positive, respectful and inclusive work environment across the FDC team and broader ECQ workforce.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, knowledge of regulatory practices work experience is considered highly desirable.

Qualifications in training would also be beneficial.
