We are seeking an organised, professional and patient-focused Casual Medical Receptionist to join our specialist clinic, which provides care across Nephrology, Psychiatry and Pulmonology. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a rapid-paced clinical environment, has excellent communication skills, and can confidently support both patients and clinicians.

Key responsibilities

Warmly greet patients and manage check-ins for specialist consultations

Answer phone calls, manage appointment bookings and coordinate follow-up visits

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely scanning/uploading of documents

Liaise with doctors, nurses and allied health staff regarding patient flow and scheduling

Process payments, Medicare claims and private billing

Assist with correspondence, referrals, reports and general administrative tasks

Uphold confidentiality,

About you

Previous medical reception or health-care administration experience preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy clinic sessions

Familiarity with medical software (e.g., Genie, Best Practice, or similar) is an advantage

Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly across casual shifts

Compassionate, respectful and comfortable supporting patients with complex medical needs
