We are working with an established business in the transport and heavy fabrication industry that is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Boilermaker to join their team in Rocklea .

This is a permanent Monday–Friday position paying $50–$55 per hour + bonuses , with the opportunity to step into a hands-on Leading Hand role.

You’ll remain on the tools while helping lead a team of Boilermakers, coordinate daily workshop activities and provide technical guidance. The role will involve the fabrication, welding, assembly and fitting of heavy vehicle bodies, trailers and transport equipment .

The Role

- Lead and support a team of Boilermakers
- Allocate daily tasks and coordinate workshop workflow
- Remain hands-on with fabrication, welding, fitting and assembly
- Fabricate and assemble heavy vehicle bodies, trailers and transport equipment
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and provide practical solutions
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and specification requirements are met
- Support toolbox talks, risk assessments and workplace safety
- Lead by example across safety, quality and workmanship

What We’re Looking For

- Trade Qualified Boilermaker
- Strong fabrication and welding experience
- Experience with trailers, heavy vehicle bodies, transport equipment or heavy fabrication
- Strong MIG and/or TIG welding skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Good communication and leadership skills
- A strong focus on safety and quality




- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience is highly regarded
