Position Overview

We are currently seeking Domestic Assistants and Personal Care Workers to join our growing team across Byron Bay and the surrounding regions, with clients located throughout the Northern Rivers area, from Lismore to Tweed Heads.

We welcome applications from both experienced and entry-level candidates. Individuals holding a Certificate III in Individual Support (or an equivalent qualification) are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those interested in Personal Care Worker opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Domestic Assistant Duties

- Perform general household cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces.

- Clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas to maintain a safe, hygienic, and comfortable home environment.

- Assist clients with unaccompanied shopping, bill payments, and other domestic support activities.

- Assist with laundry, ironing, and changing bed linen as required.

- Support clients with light household organisation and tidying.

- Adhere to all workplace health and safety, infection control, and organisational policies and procedures.

- Respond promptly and professionally to client needs while maintaining dignity and respect.

- Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided.

Personal Care Worker Duties

- Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.

- Assist with meal preparation and other Support at Home services, including domestic assistance where required.

- Support clients with community access, social engagement, appointments, and transport.

- Provide companionship, supervision, and emotional support to promote client wellbeing.

- Deliver compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and quality of life.





- Support clients with daily living activities in accordance with individual care plans.

- Monitor and report any changes in a client's health, wellbeing, or support needs.

- Maintain accurate client documentation and comply with all quality, safety, and legislative requirements.

Essential Skills and Requirements

- Previous experience in domestic assistance, cleaning, housekeeping, aged care, disability support, or a related field is desirable.

- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Current driver's licence, reliable motor vehicle, and comprehensive vehicle insurance.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.

- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

- A compassionate, client-focused approach with respect for people from diverse backgrounds.

- Commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery and professionalism.

Additional Requirements for Personal Care Workers

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification.

- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

- HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

- HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (desirable or where required).

- Medication assistance competency (where applicable)

- Experience providing personal care within aged care, disability, community care, or home care settings is highly regarded.
