MES is seeking a safety-focused Pit Technician to support an established open pit gold mining operation in Western Australia. This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys working in the pit and collaborating with geology, survey and mining teams to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The position offers an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth.

About the role

You will assist with grade control and ore mining activities, helping the team identify dig boundaries, minimise ore loss and dilution, and maintain safe, efficient pit operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting grade control drilling activities.

- Working with geologists and surveyors on ore mark-ups and dig boundaries.

- Monitoring ore mining to help minimise loss and dilution.

- Keeping an eye on pit activities,



including dozing, grading and dewatering.

- Assisting with blast movement tracking.

- Communicating with mining supervisors and technical teams throughout the shift.

About you

You will bring a practical approach, robust attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Previous experience in open pit mining, grade control or a similar field role is preferred. An understanding of mining processes and pit compliance would be an advantage.
