The Opportunity
As a Customer Service Officer, you'll provide front-line support to visitors, helping deliver accurate information, assistance and high-quality customer service.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting commercial operations, managing bookings, servicing accommodation and camping facilities, welcoming and orientating customers, resolving issues and supporting retail sales.
You'll also contribute to local operational planning and work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to maintain consistent service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver routine and moderately complex customer service and operational activities while contributing to safe, high-quality visitor experiences.
- Provide visitor information and support commercial activities, including bookings, accommodation and camping services and retail sales.
- Communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds and build constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively as part of a safe, respectful and inclusive team.
- Use sound judgement and initiative to resolve operational issues and identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Engage positively with members of the public, volunteers and park users while representing Parks Victoria professionally.
About You
You are a customer-focused, reliable and collaborative team member who enjoys he lping people and delivering positive visitor experiences. You're confident communicating with people from different backgrounds and can use sound judgement and initiative to resolve day-to-day customer service and operational issues.
You'll be comfortable working under general supervision,
taking responsibility for the quality and timeliness of your work while contributing positively to a safe, inclusive and professional team setting.
You'll bring:
- Relevant knowledge and practical skills in customer service, visitor information, community engagement, environmental education or basic land management and maintenance.
- Experience delivering customer service and operational activities under general supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative within established guidelines.
