About the role

Join NOTAZ International, a growing Australian engineering consultancy with over 25 years of experience in the steel, mining, mineral processing, energy, and infrastructure sectors. The position of a skilled and experienced Civil drafter with specialisation/experience in Residential and Commercial projects has become available. You will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering creative engineering solutions for some of the most challenging industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare single line diagrams, formulated tables in excel, sketches, charts, plans and designs for civil engineering works such as crossovers, driveways, stormwater systems, roads, etc.
- Prepare preliminary designs in 2D using hand sketches, PDF editors or AutoCAD
- Prepare concise engineering drawings from sketches and design information unassisted
- Comply with CAD Standards and Quality Systems relevant to specialization and location and apply techniques and procedures commonly used in that practice area and specialisation
- Undertake reviews of engineering drawings to ensure compliance with CAD standards and Quality Systems
- Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced drafters
- Fulfil Project Drafter role - manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, including planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project




- Place feature surveys onto drawings and understand site levels to ensure civil compliance
- Complete Sustainability Design Assessments such as STORM Reports
- Assist the office with printing and follow up phone calls to Councils, Consultants and Clients

About you

- Advanced Diploma or above in relevant field
- At least 3 years' experience as a Civil engineering draftsperson
- Experience in using Revit and AutoCAD to produce architectural and civil documents
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent planning and organisation skills
- Well-developed understanding and appreciation of architecture and landscape architecture, and how these design disciplines impact technical civil engineering design considerations
- Experience working in a diverse range of projects big and small for all types of clients from small extensions to townhouse/apartment developments to schools, pavilions, and clubhouses
- Experience working autonomously
- Appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload
- Fantastic interpersonal skills
