Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground Jumbo Operators to join our operations at Evolution Mining's Lake Cowal Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term project with a respected mining contractor while contributing to the safe and effective delivery of mine development activities.

About the Role

As a Jumbo Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground development drill rigs, supporting mine development activities while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate twin-boom jumbo drill rigs safely and efficiently
- Drill development headings in accordance with mine plans and specifications
- Accurately mark up and drill production and development rounds
- Perform pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
- Identify and rectify minor equipment issues where appropriate
- Ensure drilling activities meet safety, quality and production targets
- Work closely with supervisors, charge-up crews and other underground personnel
- Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects




- Maintain high housekeeping and operational standards underground

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous underground mining experience operating development jumbo drill rigs (Sandvik DD422i Jumbos)
- Demonstrated experience drilling underground development headings
- Strong understanding of underground development and drill and blast practices
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment
- Relevant mining competencies, licences and tickets
- Current Australian work rights
- Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
