The Role

At our Board Facility in Smithfield we have an assortment of: Flexo-Folder-Gluers, Die Cutters, Strappers, a Corrugator and supporting equipment and require an additional Fitter to help with the maintenance and repair. You'll be reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor.

- Day shift - Fixed Term contract: 12 Months
- Monday - Thursday 06:00am to 14.00pm
- Friday - 06:00am - 11:00am
- OT Monday - Thursday 2.5hours beforehand - 3:30am start
- Weekend OT available as required
- Rate: $51.87 per hour + OT
- Location: Visy Smithfield Board

What you will do:

- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance within the facility with a focus on the converting side of the plant.
- Provide service to maintain production and resolution of operational or technical problems.
- Ensure you work as a member of a cohesive team while maintaining individual responsibility.
- Improve machine general condition by executing corrective actions and improvement initiatives
- Be proactive in problem resolution based on co-operation with the manufacturing team
- Contribute to a safe and compliant working environment.

What you will bring to the team:

- Trade qualifications in Mechanical Fitting or a related field.
- Fitter experience in a manufacturing environment. Corrugating / printing or FMCG background highly regarded but not a requirement
- Highly motivated individual with an analytical style and a keen eye for detail.
- Team player focus, but ability to also work effectively and independently
- The attitude and ability to see through tasks to completion and resolve issues fully
- Fitter and Turner experience, with any welding and machine experience being a bonus
- Basic operation skill of CMMS (MEX) advantageous
