The Opportunity

As a Ranger at Lake Eildon, you will contribute to the on-ground management of Parks Victoria's estate, delivering a range of services and projects under general supervision.

Your work may include conservation programs such as pest plant and animal and threatened species management, visitor infrastructure and asset construction and maintenance, compliance and enforcement activities, education programs and engagement with the community, Traditional Owners, volunteers and other stakeholders.

You may also participate in fire and emergency management operations and compliance and enforcement activities, where required and with appropriate training.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver routine and moderately complex on-ground services and projects across land, conservation, infrastructure, asset and visitor management.
- Work safely and responsibly, identifying and managing risks while complying with occupational health, safety and wellbeing requirements.




- Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team and contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.
- Apply professional judgement, experience and initiative to resolve operational issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Engage constructively with the community, Traditional Owners, volunteers, park users and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability and professionalism while representing Parks Victoria positively.

About You

You are a practical, reliable and team-oriented person who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to positive outcomes for parks, visitors and communities. You can take responsibility for the quality and timeliness of your work and use sound judgement and initiative to resolve day-to-day operational challenges.

You'll bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to work constructively with people from a range of backgrounds. You are safety-focused, accountable and committed to delivering high-quality on-ground outcomes.

You'll bring:

- Relevant qualifications and skills in areas such as environmental science, natural resource management, conservation and land management, outdoor education, community engagement,



carpentry or another relevant trade.
- Demonstrated experience delivering routine and moderately complex on-ground services and projects under general supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving and community engagement capabilities.
- A current Victorian driver's licence.
- Please note: Ranger duties may involve r emote work, driving long distances including on unsealed roads, walking long distances in forests and parks, and weekend or rostered work. An appropriate level of fitness is required.
