About the role

Parks Victoria is looking for a Ranger to deliver high-quality park services, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and support the delivery of exciting natural resource management projects on French Island. As a Ranger, you will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and actively participate in a team environment, working with Traditional Owners in joint management. You will be adaptable and flexible to on-the-ground service requirements and will be responsible for planning and delivering in-park services as directed by the Manager.

Daily travel to French Island, an island in Western Port Bay Victoria is required as part of this role. Travel includes catching a ferry to and from work each day from either Stony Point or Cowes. Longer (approx. 9 hour) days are required as part of this role to accommodate ferry timetable.

About the Team

The French Island team is a small team, with a positive can-do culture and one of resourcefulness, collaboration and support for one another. Everyone holds their own individual responsibilities but overall,



the team works in collaboration to achieve successful environmental outcomes.

We're looking for someone with:

- A passion for the workplace
- Environmental skills and/or bush crew experience (including use of hand tools, chainsaws and herbicide usage)
- Budget management and reporting skills
- Experience working with and maintaining generators and pumps is desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent is highly desirable.
