About the Women’s and Children’s Unit

Our Women’s and Children’s Unit is a busy, supportive and collaborative environment where you’ll work alongside clinicians who are passionate about providing safe, respectful and high-quality care.

Our maternity and women’s health services include:

- Level 4 Maternity Service

- Level 3 Special Care Nursery

- Pregnancy Care Clinic

- Women’s Health Clinic

- Domiciliary Services

- Maternal and Child Health Team

You’ll be part of a diverse multidisciplinary team including Consultant Obstetricians, Obstetric Registrars, Registered Midwives, Student Midwives, Special Care Nursery nurses, Maternal and Child Health nurses and Allied Health professionals.

About the role

As a Registered Midwife at CGH, you’ll have the opportunity to support women and families throughout their maternity journey and make a meaningful difference at some of the most important moments in their lives.

You will provide safe, evidence-based and individualised midwifery care, working in partnership with women, their families and carers.

Your role will include:

- Providing high-quality, woman-centred midwifery care.

- Developing, implementing and evaluating individualised plans of care.

- Building respectful and trusting relationships with women, families and colleagues.

- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Promoting safety, quality and positive outcomes for women and babies.

- Contributing to continuous improvement and the ongoing development of midwifery practice.

- Practising in accordance with the National Competency Standards for Registered Midwives.

About you

We’re looking for midwives who are passionate about what they do, genuinely care about the experience of women and families, and enjoy being part of a team.

To be successful, you will:

- Be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

- Hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

- Be committed to woman-centred, evidence-based care.

- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Be willing to contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

- Be enthusiastic about continuing to learn and develop your clinical practice.
