The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join Corrections Victoria as a Prison Services Manager supporting both Hopkins Correctional Centre and H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal.

About the Business Unit

Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium-security prison located in Western Victoria, accommodating up to 798 people in custody.

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located near Trawalla, west of Melbourne.

Together, these locations contribute to meaningful outcomes that enhance rehabilitation by delivering structured programs, employment pathways,



training and work readiness initiatives that support successful reintegration and prepare people in custody for their transition back into the community.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the delivery and oversight of a diverse portfolio of corporate services. Working as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will partner closely with General Managers and operational leaders to ensure effective business support services that enable safe, efficient and high-performing prison operations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and developing multidisciplinary teams across finance, workforce planning, human resources, procurement, training and prisoner services functions.
- Overseeing strategic planning and the delivery of corporate and business support services to support operational performance and organisational priorities.
- Managing significant budgets, financial reporting and resource allocation to ensure effective and sustainable business outcomes.
- Providing high-level advice and recommendations to senior leaders on finance, procurement, workforce and business services matters.
- Driving compliance with government financial management requirements, departmental policies and procurement frameworks.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships, identifying emerging issues and contributing to strategic decision-making as a member of the prison executive leadership team

About You

You are a confident and collaborative senior leader with experience managing complex corporate service functions within a large operational environment.

You will bring:

- Strong experience in financial management,



budget oversight and strategic resource planning.
- Proven leadership capability, including leading diverse teams and driving high performance.
- Experience providing authoritative advice and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong business, procurement and commercial acumen.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
- Knowledge of the Victorian Public Service Purchasing Framework and procurement.

Qualifications in finance, business management, human resources or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
