Our client is a Global Transport & Logistics business with sites & operations across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland. As the business continues to expand, they employ over 1,000 people across ANZ running container depots, warehousing, transport and port-side logistics. Due to an internal restructure they are looking for National WHS & Environmental Manager to lead the business through it's next phase. This role will report through to the Chief Operating Officer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Oversee safety leadership and strategy
- Own the safety and environmental management systems
- Lead the controls for critical risk management
- Manage incidents & investigations
- Injury management & fitness for work
- Heavy vehicles & chain of responsibility
- Lead environmental management initiatives nationally
- Manage contractor safety, including pre-qualification, inductions, permits to work and site supervision
- Set up and support health and safety representatives (HSRs), committees and work groups

Required Skills/Qualification

- At least 10 years' experience in WHS, including at least 5 years in a national or multi-site senior WHS role
- Recent experience in ports, stevedoring, container logistics, road transport,



warehousing or a similar heavy industry with mobile plant
- Tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS, Environmental Management or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of harmonised WHS laws, Victorian OHS law and the Heavy Vehicle National Law, including CoR
- Working knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental management systems
- Experience managing workers' compensation and injury management
- Proven experience managing high-risk mobile plant, traffic management and dangerous goods
- Experience leading serious incident investigations and managing regulator inspections and notices
- Experience working constructively with unions, HSRs and workers in an enterprise agreement environment
- Experience building or improving a safety management system to ISO 45001 or equivalent
