About the role

Dynamo Services are Generator Sales, Maintenance & Repair Specialists, servicing Greater Sydney, Hawkesbury, Penrith, Blue Mountains, Wollongong, and Newcastle. We specialise in all brands of standby power generators for commercial and residential clients, with 24/7 emergency support and a reputation for quality workmanship. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided, working alongside experienced technicians to develop skills in generator servicing, fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs across a wide range of equipment and sites.

Key responsibilities

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel standby generators, and associated units, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service intervals.

- Inspect and service associated equipment including fuel systems, exhaust systems, batteries, chargers, auto-start controls, and transfer switches (where applicable).

- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective repairs, overhauls and component replacements (onsite and in workshop) efficiently.

- Conduct oil, coolant, and fuel inspections, including taking oil samples for condition monitoring and analysis, identifying contamination, wear, or abnormal operating conditions.

- Perform operational testing, load testing,



and commissioning of standby generator systems.

- Accurately complete service reports, fault findings, test results, and maintenance recommendations.

- Work on commercial sites including industrial facilities, data rooms and critical infrastructure.

- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal team members.

- Work safely and efficiently in accordance with WHS standards

About you

- Relevant trade qualification, such as: Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent, or Auto Electrician

- Working knowledge of generator systems, pumps, compressors, and/or similar equipment

- White Card

- Current Driver's Licence

- Robust problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude

- Ability to support installations, plant movements or mentor junior technicians

- Desirable: Dual trade qualification

- Desirable: High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF)

- Desirable: Confined Space & Working at Heights certifications
