ASET Services Pty Ltd specialize in the transportation of agricultural machinery such as tractors (large or small), sprayers, cultivating equipment, seeders and harvesters. We also provide transport services to other industries such as construction/mining (excavators, dump trucks, etc) and oversize structures (portable housing, structural steel, etc). We provide truck services for Single Loads, Extendable/Widening Trailer Loads, B-Double & Wide B-double loads, and Road Train Loads.

About the role

As a successful applicant for the Motor Mechanic position with ASET, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnosis and repair of our vehicles and mechanical equipment.

Key responsibilities

- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical faults in engines and parts.

- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.

- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed.

- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.

- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.





- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.

- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.

- May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.

- May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.

About you

- Experience with heavy vehicles, particularly Scania, MAN, Volvo and/or Kenworth.

- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

- Solid mechanical and electronic diagnostic skills.

- Basic MIG welding skills.

- Excellent English communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

- An understanding of workplace safety, quality and environmental requirements.

- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

- A professional manner and positive attitude.

- At least one (1) year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a closely related heavy vehicle mechanical role.

- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a relevant trade equivalent.

- A current Australian driver's licence.

- National Police Check.

- White Card.
