About the role

Brisbane Isuzu is seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman/Experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team at our Eagle Farm, Queensland facility. This is a full-time position that combines hands-on technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities. As Workshop Foreman, you will play a critical role in overseeing our workshop operations, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and leading our team of technicians. This position is essential to our business operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction, workshop efficiency, and the professional development of our technical staff.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and manage workshop technicians, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and quality assurance of all completed work

- Drive technical excellence by maintaining up-to-date Isuzu product knowledge and ensuring technicians and apprentices complete required training and development programs

- Diagnose and repair heavy vehicles, including Isuzu trucks and related commercial vehicles, utilising advanced diagnostic equipment

- Perform preventative maintenance, major repairs, and component rebuilds on heavy vehicle systems

- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and company quality standards

- Maintain accurate job cards, work orders and service records for all workshop activities

- Conduct toolbox meetings and provide on-the-job training to junior technicians

- Implement and enforce workplace health and safety procedures and best practices

- Manage workshop scheduling, parts inventory, and resource allocation to optimise productivity

- Liaise with customers, management and parts suppliers to ensure smooth workshop operations

- Manage workshop tooling, equipment, and specialist Isuzu tools to ensure they remain compliant, maintained, and workshop-ready.

What we're looking for

- Recognised automotive or heavy vehicle mechanic qualification or equivalent trade certification

- Experience working as a qualified heavy vehicle technician





- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a workshop environment

- Solid diagnostic and problem-solving skills with proficiency in using diagnostic equipment

- In-depth knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems

- Experience working on Isuzu vehicles or similar commercial vehicles is highly desirable

- Current driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong organisational and time management abilities

- Commitment to workplace health and safety compliance

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
