We’re looking for an experienced Field Sales Engineer to manage and grow a Victorian territory for an established international manufacturer of industrial measurement technology.

This is a remote, home-based role, with your home office set up for you. From there, you’ll be out in the field meeting customers, developing opportunities and providing technically sound solutions to industrial applications.

We’re looking for someone who brings both sides of the equation: technical credibility and demonstrated sales experience.

You may already sell instrumentation, automation, process control, electrical or other technical industrial products. What matters is that you can understand a technical application, communicate confidently with customers and, importantly, turn opportunities into sales.

The role

As Field Sales Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for developing business and managing customer relationships throughout Victoria.

Your customers will rely on you to understand what they are trying to achieve, ask the right technical questions and identify the most appropriate solution.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Managing and growing an established sales territory

- Developing new business and identifying opportunities within existing accounts

- Building strong, long-term relationships with industrial customers

- Conducting regular customer and site visits throughout Victoria

- Understanding technical applications and recommending appropriate solutions

- Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and close

- Delivering product presentations and technical discussions





- Maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and actively progressing opportunities

- Working autonomously from your Melbourne-based home office

- Collaborating with the wider Australian team when required

What we’re looking for

Sales experience is essential.

This role will suit someone who has already demonstrated they can develop customers, manage a territory and win business in a technical or industrial environment.

Ideally, you’ll have:

- Proven B2B sales experience in a technical, engineering or industrial environment

- Technical experience or knowledge related to instrumentation, automation, process control, electrical, sensors, industrial equipment or similar

- Experience developing new business as well as growing existing accounts

- Confidence engaging with engineers, maintenance teams, operations personnel and other technical customers

- The ability to understand technical applications and translate them into commercially viable solutions

- Solid relationship-building, negotiation and closing skills

- The discipline to manage a territory and sales pipeline autonomously

- A practical, solutions-focused approach

- The ability and willingness to travel throughout your Victorian territory

Instrumentation experience would be highly regarded, but we’re equally interested in strong technical salespeople from closely related industrial markets.

Work from home, but not behind a desk

This is a genuinely field-based sales position.

You’ll be based remotely from your home in Melbourne, with a home office set up for you. Your week will involve a combination of working from home and getting out into the market to meet customers, visit sites and develop business.

It offers plenty of independence, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their territory and doesn't need to be closely managed to keep opportunities moving
