Croft Contracting Pty Ltd is Melbourne-based air conditioning and ventilation services provider established in 1978. The company delivers engineering, drafting, procurement, installation, commissioning, service and maintenance solutions for commercial HVAC and ventilation projects. With in-house estimating, engineering and drafting teams, Croft Contracting provides both fully documented and design-and-construct solutions, utilising advanced 3D modelling (BIM) systems to deliver sustainable, reliable and compliant mechanical services projects throughout Australia. We require an Engineering Technologist to support the delivery of our engineering design, project coordination and HVAC system performance objectives. [

Updated DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Analyse, evaluate and develop HVAC and ventilation system designs for commercial and industrial projects.

·Assist with the engineering design, selection and specification of air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical services equipment.

·Prepare and review technical drawings, shop drawings and BIM-based documentation to support project delivery.

·Conduct engineering calculations including heat-load assessments, airflow analysis, equipment sizing and energy-efficiency evaluations.

·Support design-and-construct projects from tender stage through to commissioning and final handover.

·Review project specifications, Australian Standards, NCC/BCA requirements and client requirements to ensure compliance.

·Develop and improve installation methodologies, testing procedures and commissioning processes for HVAC systems.

·Coordinate with engineers, estimators, project managers, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives.





·Monitor installation activities and provide technical support to site personnel during construction and commissioning.

·Analyse testing and commissioning data and recommend modifications to improve system performance, reliability and sustainability.

·Prepare engineering reports, technical submissions, commissioning documentation, as-built records and compliance documentation.

·Assist in procurement activities including equipment evaluation, material selection and technical assessment of suppliers.

·Participate in project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring to support timely and cost-effective project delivery.

·Contribute to quality assurance, workplace health and safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

·Maintain accurate engineering, project and maintenance records in accordance with company procedures and industry requirement

Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:

Education:

Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills:

Strong technical and analytical skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Good problem-solving and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
