Hays is proud to be partnering with a leading NSW infrastructure organisation delivering some of Australia's most significant energy projects.An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Manager, Schedule Management & Project Controls to provide leadership across a complex portfolio of major projects. This role will suit someone who combines deep technical scheduling expertise with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive governance and uplift planning capability across a large-scale infrastructure environment.
Your new role
Working closely with senior executives, Project Directors and project controls teams, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of scheduling frameworks, standards, governance and assurance processes. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered with robust planning disciplines, transparent reporting and high-quality schedule management practices.This is a strategic leadership position rather than a traditional scheduler role.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead schedule management and planning capability across a major infrastructure portfolio
- Develop and embed scheduling governance, standards and assurance frameworks
- Drive schedule quality, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide executive reporting, portfolio insights and schedule performance analysis
- Support integrated master scheduling, forecasting and project controls activities
- Partner with senior stakeholders to improve planning maturity and delivery outcomes




- Promote best practice project controls across a complex and fast-paced environment

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a highly experienced planning or project controls professional with:

- Advanced Oracle Primavera P6 expertise
- Strong leadership experience within scheduling, planning or project controls functions
- Proven success developing and implementing scheduling frameworks, governance and assurance processes
- Extensive experience across major infrastructure, energy, utilities, transmission, transport or other large-scale capital projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at executive level
- The ability to translate complex schedule data into transparent business insights and decision-making information
- Demonstrated experience managing schedule assurance, change control and portfolio reporting

Highly Regarded

- Energy sector experience
- NSW Government project delivery experience
- Experience using AI or advanced analytics to improve reporting and project controls outcome

What you'll get in return

- Daily rate between $1,500 and $2,000 + Super
- Immediate start
- Contract through to February 2027 with potential extension
