Team Leader Corporate Planning and Performance

City of Launceston is seeking an experienced people leader and corporate planning practitioner to strengthen the connection between strategy and day-to-day delivery.

This is a genuine build role. Council's Shaping Future strategy provides direction, and the organisation is now developing the planning, performance and service improvement disciplines needed to support it. You will lead this work while guiding a developing team of five.

Reporting to the Senior Leader Corporate Planning and Strategy, you will mature Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework and align the Ten-Year Strategic Plan, Four-Year Delivery Plan, Annual Plan and End of Term Plan. You will establish practical planning cycles, performance measures and reporting that help managers understand what they own, how their work contributes to Council's priorities and whether delivery is on track.

The role leads service planning, service reviews and business improvement. You will work across Council to connect strategy, projects,



resources and services and ensure customer and community feedback informs planning decisions.

You bring solid corporate or strategic planning experience, sound analytical capability and demonstrated leadership of people or substantial project teams. Local government experience, particularly with integrated planning and reporting, will be highly regarded. Candidates from corporate, state government or other regulated environments with relevant enterprise planning, organisational performance or service improvement experience are also encouraged to apply.

Success will require a practical and respectful leadership style. You know your field, listen to the organisation and introduce change at a pace people can absorb. You are comfortable advising executives, senior managers and Councillors, facilitating across business units and turning broad objectives into clear actions.
