Salary: $81,000 – $124,000 + super + Position of Responsibility allowance, dependent on experience *2027 pay increase due to be released soon and base salary will increased.
Employment: Full-time | Permanent teaching position | Three-year leadership tenure

About the School

HARKE has partnered with a growing independent Christian school in Melbourne’s western growth corridor. Established in 2019, the College is continuing its development into a full Prep–Year 12 school, with its first Year 12 cohort graduating in 2027.

This is an opportunity to join the College at an important stage of its secondary growth. VCE commenced in 2026, and the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the senior school program, supporting VCE teachers and establishing the structures and expectations that will underpin future cohorts.

About the Position

The Head of VCE will provide educational, operational and faith-based leadership across Years 10–12, working closely with the Campus Principal, Head of Secondary and broader Executive Team.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining a teaching load with responsibility for VCE and in the future, VCE VM delivery, alongside VCAA requirements, staff development, student outcomes and senior school culture. The position also oversees the work of the Senior School and VASS Coordinator.

The College is specifically seeking an experienced VCE educator who can bring established knowledge of Victorian senior secondary education and help guide the College through its first graduating Year 12 cohort. Those relocating from interstate and New Zealand with equivalent experience may be considered, but the strongest preference is an experienced VCE leader who is familiar with

Skills and Responsibilities





- Lead the planning and delivery of VCE and VCE VM, ensuring curriculum, assessment and administration meet VCAA requirements.

- Drive improvement in VCE outcomes through effective assessment practices, instructional leadership, data and continuous improvement.

- Coach, mentor and support VCE teachers, building consistency and strong teaching practice across the senior school.

- Provide leadership across student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and pastoral care, maintaining effective communication with students and families.

- Contribute to College-wide leadership, strategic planning and the continued development of a strong Christ-centred senior school culture.

The role is a permanent full time teaching appointment with a three-year Head of VCE leadership tenure and reports to the Campus Principal.

About You

The successful candidate will be an established VCE leader who understands what effective senior secondary teaching, assessment and administration look like in practice.

Essential requirements include:

- Demonstrated VCE teaching experience within Victoria.

- Strong understanding of VCAA requirements, VCE assessment and senior secondary processes.

- Capacity to lead, coach and develop teachers while maintaining a substantial teaching load.

- A personal Christian faith and demonstrated commitment to Christian education, with the ability to model Christian values through leadership and everyday practice. The College specifically requires a personal faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to Christian education and discipleship.

- A commitment to ongoing faith formation, professional learning and reflective practice.





- Current VIT registration or eligibility to obtain registration.

- Full Australian working rights.

- Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding and onboarding requirements.
