About the role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mobile Plant Operator to join our team at our Laverton North facility in Victoria. This is a full time position that plays a crucial role in our daily operations. As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of mobile plant and equipment, contributing directly to our production targets and operational success. This role requires someone who is attentive to detail, committed to safety protocols, and capable of working both independently and as part of a cohesive team.

Key responsibilities

- Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant regulations and company procedures

- Perform pre-operational and post-operational inspections of mobile plant to ensure all equipment is in safe working condition

- Maintain accurate records of plant operation, fuel consumption, maintenance issues and any incidents

- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding plant status, operational issues and safety concerns

- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, risk management procedures and environmental requirements at all times

- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of mobile plant equipment as directed

- Respond promptly to breakdowns or equipment failures and notify maintenance personnel when required





- Support the achievement of production targets and operational deadlines through efficient equipment operation

What we're looking for

- Proven experience operating mobile plant equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment

- Valid Front end loader and excavator licence and relevant mobile plant operator qualifications or certification

- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work safely in compliance with all statutory requirements

- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of plant equipment operation and maintenance

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively

- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate operational records

- Physical fitness and capability to perform the demands of the role, including working in varying weather conditions

- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

- Desirable: Experience in metal recycling or processing facilities, or knowledge of recycling operations
