We are seeking a caring, dependable pharmacist to lead our pharmacy team on weekends. You will provide safe, accurate dispensing and clear, friendly health advice to the Chermside community, while supporting pharmacy assistants and helping the store run smoothly during some of its busiest trading periods.
Key responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely, including clinical and legal checking, in line with relevant legislation and PBS requirements
- Counsel patients on prescription medicines, over-the-counter products and complementary medicines
- Provide qualified advice and services, such as medication reviews, health screening and immunisations where endorsed and offered by the pharmacy
- Supervise, guide and support pharmacy assistants and dispensary technicians
- Maintain accurate records, including Schedule 8 and other controlled drug registers
- Manage stock queries, cold-chain requirements and end-of-day dispensary procedures
- Handle customer queries and concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Uphold pharmacy SOPs, quality and safety standards, and workplace health and safety practices
- Communicate with prescribers and other health professionals as needed
About you
- General registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and stay calm in a busy environment
- Availability to work weekends
- Experience in Australian community pharmacy (new graduates and locums also welcome to apply)
- Immunisation training or other professional service endorsements
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software
