About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Design Technology Teacher to join the College in a 0.6-0.8 FTE fixed-term appointment, for Term 1 2027.

The successful applicant will teach Design Technology to secondary students, with a focus on Metal and Timber, and contribute to engaging, practical and future-focused learning. The ability to teach a Science and Engineering elective would be highly regarded.

Working within a supportive and collaborative faculty, the successful candidate will design and deliver engaging learning experiences, assess and monitor student progress, and contribute positively to the academic, wellbeing and co-curricular life of the College. This role is ideally suited to an educator who values strong relationships, contemporary teaching practice and helping every student feel known, nurtured and challenged.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Design Technology to secondary students, with a focus on Metal and Timber, using engaging, evidence-informed and future-focused pedagogical approaches

- Deliver high-quality practical learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum

- Maintain protected, well-organised workshop practices and model the safe use of tools, machinery, materials and equipment

- Assess and report on student learning in accordance with College expectations

- Foster an inclusive,



positive and academically challenging classroom and workshop environment

- Build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues to support student growth and wellbeing

- Use assessment data and feedback to adapt teaching and improve student outcomes

- Collaborate with faculty colleagues to continually enhance curriculum and teaching practice

- Contribute to the broader life of the College through co-curricular involvement and community engagement

- Undertake relief teaching in addition to the agreed fixed load, where mutually agreed

About You

We are seeking a teacher who:

- Holds appropriate tertiary qualifications and current TRB SA registration (or eligibility)

- Has demonstrated experience teaching Design Technology, including Metal and Timber, in a secondary setting

- Has a strong commitment to safe workshop practice and the effective supervision of students in practical learning environments

- Possesses a strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices

- Builds positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with students, families and colleagues

- Understands the important connection between student wellbeing and learning success

- Is committed to creating inclusive learning environments where students feel known, nurtured and challenged

- Has the ability to teach a Science and Engineering elective (highly regarded)

- Is open to undertaking relief teaching in addition to the agreed fixed load
