Accounts Officer - 12-Month FTC | Financial Services

We are partnering with a well-established Financial Services organisation based in North Sydney to recruit an experienced Accounts Officer for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Officer with strong Accounts Receivable experience to join a supportive finance team within a professional and established organisation. There is also strong potential for the position to convert to a permanent opportunity within the business or wider group.

The Role

The role reports to the Finance Operations Team Leader and will be part of a team of five. This is a high-volume Accounts Officer position, with approximately 80% of the role focused on Accounts Receivable and 20% on Accounts Payable.

You will be responsible for managing a range of day-to-day transactional finance activities while working closely with a wider finance team. We are also open to Assistant Accountant profiles who are looking for a stable, long-term opportunity and are interested in moving into a broader Financial Services environment. Given the size and structure of the wider business, there may be other opportunities to progress into within the organisation over time.

Key responsibilities:

- Managing high-volume Accounts Receivable transactions
- Processing and allocating high-volume receipts
- Managing customer accounts and following up outstanding payments
- Processing premium-related transactions
- Assisting with Accounts Payable activities
- Processing transactions across automated and manual systems
- Supporting the wider finance team with general accounting duties
- Ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within required timeframes

About You





We are looking for an experienced Accounts Officer who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment and enjoys being part of a close-knit finance team.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in an Accounts Officer or Accounts Receivable position
- Financial Services experience is highly desirable
- Strong high-volume Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience with receipting and customer account management
- Experience working across both automated and manual systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A reliable, mature and professional approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A reliable employment history and genuine interest in a longer-term opportunity
