Your current company

Our client is a large and complex organisation undertaking a significant technology modernisation and transformation journey. With a strong focus on digital capability, customer experience and operational excellence, the organisation is investing heavily in its technology function to support future growth and innovation.
As part of this journey, a newly created executive leadership role has been established to bring together Architecture, Delivery, Portfolio Governance and Business Analysis under a single strategic function. This role will sit on the Technology Leadership team and partner closely with the CTO and other senior technology executives to shape and deliver the organisation's technology strategy.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will lead a large multidisciplinary function encompassing Enterprise Architecture, Delivery Transformation, Portfolio Governance and Business Analysis . You will be responsible for establishing a high-performing operating model that aligns technology investment, architecture strategy and delivery execution to organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and developing a team of approximately 80 - 90 technology professionals through multiple senior leaders
- Driving enterprise-wide technology modernisation and transformation initiatives
- Establishing and uplifting delivery governance, portfolio management and agile ways of working
- Leading Enterprise Architecture, including technology roadmaps, standards, governance and reference architectures
- Driving portfolio planning, investment prioritisation and executive decision-making frameworks
- Building capability across delivery, architecture and business analysis functions
- Providing strategic advice and influencing executive stakeholders on technology investment and transformation priorities.

creating structure and leading organisations through complex transformation rather than maintaining an already mature environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Experience leading both Delivery and Architecture functions at enterprise scale
- Proven success leading large multidisciplinary technology teams through subordinate leaders
- Strong portfolio governance, investment management and operating model experience
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, delivery disciplines and organisational capability uplift initiatives
- A track record delivering large-scale technology transformation and modernisation programs
- Executive-level stakeholder management with experience influencing Boards, Executives and Governance Committees
- Strong commercial acumen, including investment prioritisation, business case assessment and value realisation
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio Management and contemporary delivery practices including Agile and Lean delivery models

Candidates with experience across utilities, financial services, insurance, healthcare, telcos or other large-scale, customer-facing enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
