Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am–4pm - 30 hours per week

About Us
At Communify, we are dedicated to supporting people across all life stages, empowering them to live active, healthy and socially connected lives. We provide a wide range of services including mental health, alcohol and other drug (AOD) recovery, disability, housing and homelessness, family support, aged care, multicultural programs and community development.

Our Springboard program is a free, 18-week program supporting people experiencing alcohol and other drug use alongside co-occurring mental health difficulties. It offers a mix of group and individual support across treatment and aftercare, helping participants build sustainable recovery pathways.

The Role
We are seeking an Intake Worker to join our dedicated Springboard team. In this role, you will:
• Provide a welcoming and responsive entry point for people seeking to access the Springboard Program.
• Support participants and referrers through the stepped intake process, from initial enquiry and referral through to assessment and program commencement.
• Conduct initial eligibility screening and assessments, identifying readiness, risk and individual support needs.
• Coordinate intake activities, including scheduling, progress tracking, communication and management of intake information.
• Maintain contact with participants between intake periods to support engagement and readiness for upcoming programs.
• Work collaboratively with participants, referrers and the Springboard team to address barriers to program participation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring services to strengthen referral pathways and coordinate participant support.




• Support participants who do not enter or who exit the program to connect with appropriate alternative services and plan for potential future engagement with Springboard

About You
You will be an experienced professional with:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and practical experience in alcohol and other drugs, mental health, social work, community services or a related field.
• Experience engaging and building rapport with people experiencing AOD, mental health and other psychosocial challenges.
• The ability to identify individual needs, barriers, risks and readiness for treatment and develop adaptable, person-centred responses.
• Knowledge of the AOD, mental health and broader community service system, including relevant referral pathways.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with participants, families, referrers and service providers.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, including high-quality written communication, accurate record keeping and effective management of competing priorities.
• The ability to work independently with initiative and sound judgement, while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A commitment to social justice, inclusion and person-centred practice.

Mandatory requirements:
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• National Police Check
• Working with Children Blue Card
