About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef/Cook with passion and creativity for food to join our team. The person must be able to work independently in a busy and fast paced workplace. the person must also have excellent hygiene practices and be able to communicate well with others in the team.

Key responsibilities as Chef/Cook:
Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus and quality standards.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and cooking.
Monitor the quality, taste, portion size and presentation of meals before service.
Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, chopping, marinating, seasoning and portioning food.
Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Maintain consistent standards in food preparation, cooking and presentation. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food, ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Ensure food and ingredients are appropriately stored, labelled and rotated to maintain freshness and minimize wastage.




Maintain clean, organized and hygienic kitchen workstations and food preparation areas. Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Work closely with other chefs, cooks, kitchen staff and front-of-house employees to ensure smooth service.
Prepare meals according to customers' dietary requirements and special requests where required.
Assist with menu planning, development of recent dishes and improvement of existing menu items.
Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required.

Requirements:
Relevant experience as a chef or in a similar kitchen role
Qualifications in Commercial Cookery or a related field
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment
Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to grow your culinary skills

Pay: $79,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
