As Administration Officer (Rosters), you will specifically:
Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Develop, establish and maintain processes and systems for staff rosters including roster planning, the coverage of shifts, leave and training to ensure the effective and effective operation of the Centre.
Fill vacant shifts on a daily basis to provide sufficient staffing to ensure the safety and security of the centres.
Maintain accurate recording on registers including management of approvals for Audit compliance.
Research, establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislation, awards, certified agreements, employment policies and practices affecting the employment of staff within the Youth Detention Centres.




Liaise on a regular basis with managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that rostering and staff movements are captured and reflected correctly on all systems / records.
Develop and maintain positive and robust communication links with all employees within the Centre as well as external stakeholders, to ensure the productive and effective two-way transfer of information.
Investigate enquiries relating to human resource and rostering issues ensuring timely and accurate solutions are reached and respond to written and verbal enquires with a pro-active and positive approach.
Provide informed and accurate advice and support to management and staff on all rostering and leave matters.
Develop and maintain accurate data and recording systems and reports that relate to the functions of the role outlined above.
