Carmita restaurant & bar is seeking an experienced and passionate chef to join our agile kitchen team on a full time basis.

Carmita restaurant and bar is a vibrant Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering bold flavours, fresh local produce share style dining and a lively atmosphere.

Our menu combines a modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences with creative presentation and high-quality seasonal ingredients.

We are looking for a chef who enjoys working in a fast paced, energetic kitchen and has a genuine passion for delivering memorable dining experiences.

Key responsibilities
Prepare and cooking a range of Mediterranean and Middle eastern inspired dishes to a consistently high standard
Assisting in the development of seasonal menus and daily specials.




Ensuring quality presentation and portion control standards are maintained during service
Working collaboratively with the kitchen team during high volume services
Supervising and training kitchen staff

Requirements

-Full work rights in Australia

-At least 3 years relevant cooking experience
Experience working in a busy restaurant with high service standards
Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a professional team
Creativity, attention to detail and passion for modern hospitality

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
