We are a busy, compliance-focused law firm located in the beautiful seaside village of Sawtell. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join us in office to manage our day-to-day finances, trust accounts, and audit preparation.
Key responsibilities
Trust Accounting: End-to-end management of client trust funds, including daily processing, receipting, and strict regulatory tracking.
Software Synchronization: Overseeing the integration between Smokeball and Xero to ensure data flows flawlessly without duplication.
Audit & Compliance: Conducting rigorous monthly reconciliations to ensure the firm remains 100% compliant and continuously ready for annual external examinations.
General Bookkeeping: Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, banking, and monthly financial reporting.
About you
Proven experience as a bookkeeper within an Australian law firm (preferred).
High proficiency and hands-on experience using Smokeball/LEAP and Xero.
Comprehensive understanding of legal trust accounting rules and regulations.
Exceptional attention to detail and robust organizational skills.
Availability to work in office in our Sawtell office from Wednesday to Friday.
