About the role

Alkina Wine Estate is seeking an experienced, hands-on Vineyard Operator to assist the Estate Manager in managing vineyard operations across our certified Organic and Biodynamic vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of day-to-day vineyard activities throughout the annual growing cycle. As part of a small, dedicated team within a growing business, flexibility and a willingness to contribute across a range of duties is essential.

Key responsibilities
Tractor and vineyard machinery operation
Spraying and Biodynamic applications
Slashing and trimming
Operation and maintenance of irrigation and trellis systems
Routine machinery maintenance and mechanical repairs
Canopy management and vine training
Harvest operations and associated vineyard duties




Other general vineyard and general property maintenance tasks as required

About you
Self-motivated, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently when required
Previous experience operating tractors and vineyard machinery
Valuable mechanical aptitude and the ability to undertake basic machinery maintenance and repairs
Current driver's licence
Current ChemCERT accreditation preferred
Robust work ethic and a willingness to contribute as part of a small, team-oriented team
Right to work on a permanent basis in Australia
