Job Description

BCA Commercial Interiors is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Somerton, VIC location. This is a hands-on position where you will operate and maintain woodworking machinery for commercial joinery projects.

What you'll be doing

Operating woodworking machinery including CNC, edgebander and at times a panel saw as required
n
Setting up machinery and tooling as needed
n
Monitoring machinery performance and identifying any mechanical issues or defects in materials
n
Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity
n
Quality checking finished components against specifications and reporting any discrepancies
n
Safely handling and storing sheets and manufactured components
n
Unloading supplier trucks of materials as required
n

What we're looking for

n

n
Experience in operating woodworking machinery.
n
Understanding of cabinet making materials and how they respond to machining
n
Solid attention to detail.
n




Knowledge of health and safety practices specific to woodworking environments
n
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues
n
Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials
n
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
n
Forklift license is preferred
n
Experience in cabinet making assembling and general factory processes are preferred
n
