About the role

We are seeking a practical, curious and customer-focused apprentice to join our Service team. You will work alongside experienced technicians, build hands-on skills in the workshop and in the field, and develop into a qualified service technician through structured workplace training and formal study. The apprenticeship involves completing Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920) through a registered training provider while working full-time with Wedderburn.

Key responsibilities
Complete workshop repairs, testing and equipment preparation
Assist with fault finding, diagnosis and repairs at customer sites
Support installation and commissioning of recent equipment
Carry out preventative maintenance under supervision
Build capability in trade measurement verification and compliance work
Use digital service systems to document work accurately
Deliver qualified, reliable customer service

About you
A genuine interest in electronics, mechanical systems and problem solving




A practical mindset and willingness to learn from experienced technicians
Strong communication skills and a customer-first approach
Positive attention to detail, organisation and safety awareness
Reliability, initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team
A current Australian driver licence, or the ability to obtain one
Right to work in Australia
Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
Ability to obtain a White Card where required
Willingness to travel and work reasonable overtime as the role develops
A full-time, permanent apprenticeship with paid workplace learning
Structured technical development and mentoring
Regular formal training through a registered training provider
Tools of trade, laptop and mobile phone as required for the role
