At least 1 year experience post-qualification working as a full time veterinary nurse.
n Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (or overseas equivalent preferable, negotiable) or eq
n Experience with urgent triage following ARC protocols, including resuscitation, stabilisation and assisting assessment

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
Patient handling and monitoring.
n
Urgent triage following ARC protocols (including resuscitation, stabilisation and assisting with assessment as necessary);
n
Assessment of the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, and examination before referral to the appropriate vet. Assessment can be via telephone or 1:1 consultation with patient.
n
Follow-up of patient test results and communication with clients where appropriate.
n
Administration of medications,



including dose calculations, and charted instructions in a timely and accurate manner.
n
Collection and submission of diagnostic samples.
n
Preparation of patients for procedures.
n
Provision of patient's basic needs (food, water, exercise), comfort and hygiene in accordance with practice standards.
n
Performing diagnostic imaging studies.
n
Monitoring of anaesthetics.
n
Assisting other clinical team members as required.
n
Undertaking patient discharge, ensuring clients understand the diagnosis, outcome and after-care follow-up arrangements.
n
Maintaining high standards of infection control.
n
Assisting in surgery.
n
Preparation of notes, invoicing and liaising with clients and referring vets.
