Job Description

Safety Australia Group is seeking a hands-on OHS Advisor to join a major construction project in Geelong, Victoria. Working closely with site management, supervisors, subcontractors and workers, you'll play a key role in maintaining safety standards, managing risks and promoting a positive safety culture.

Location: Geelong VIC

n

Contract: October 2026 – February 2027

n

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

n

Work arrangement: Full time, in office

n

Payrate: $70 per hour plus superannuation

n

Key responsibilities

n

Conducting regular site inspections and identifying hazards.

n

Delivering site inductions and safety briefings.

n

Building strong relationships with workers, supervisors and subcontractors.

n

Responding to incidents and injuries and assisting with investigations.

n

Monitoring compliance with SWMS, site procedures and WHS requirements.

n

Providing practical safety advice to site personnel.

n

Participating in monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings.





n

Maintaining accurate inspection, incident and investigation records using an iPad and basic computer systems.

n

Supporting initiatives that strengthen safety awareness and accountability.

n

About you

n

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a WHS/Health & Safety role.

n

Construction industry experience, preferably on active project sites.

n

A sound understanding of practical site safety requirements.

n

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

n

Confidence conducting inspections and addressing unsafe practices.

n

Positive organisational skills and attention to detail.

n

Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad.

n

A Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent is preferred.

n

First Aid and Emergency Experience Management qualifications will be advantageous but are not essential.
