WorkPac Health & Social Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with theatre experience for a short-term contract at Mackay Base Hospital.
This is a outstanding opportunity to work within a supportive rural healthcare setting, providing theatre, anaesthetic and PACU/Recovery care.

Mackay Base Hospital is a major hospital providing a range of medical, surgical, emergency, outpatient and specialist health services to the Mackay and surrounding communities.
The hospital provides a range of surgical services and supports patients across the region, including perioperative, anaesthetic and recovery care
What You Will Be Doing
Preparing patients for surgery
Assisting the surgical team
Scrub and circulating duties
Supporting theatre anaesthesia
PACU/Recovery care
Advanced life support
Cannulation
Monitoring patients and maintaining infection control standards
Ensuring patient safety and comfort
Working in accordance with clinical protocols and standards of practice
What You Will Need
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Previous theatre,



anaesthetics or PACU/Recovery experience preferred
Scrub/scout or circulating experience highly regarded
Advanced Life Support experience
Cannulation competency
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Desirable
ieMR experience
Previous QLD Health / Mackay HHS experience
Previous Australian hospital experience

Multiple contract lengths from 4–14 weeks
Up to 80 hours per fortnigh
$350 travel allowance each way to Mackay
Shared accommodation provided, generally in office or close to the hospital
Rotating 8 & 10-hour shifts across morning, afternoon and night shifts
