FFT-CW Therapist – Restoring Families
We are looking for a
Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Therapist
to join our
Restoring Families team in Yarraville
.
This is an opportunity to deliver an intensive, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability and complex challenges.
Working primarily in the family home and community, you will deliver the FFT-CW model with fidelity, supporting families to strengthen relationships, address risk factors and achieve meaningful and sustainable change.
You will work closely with the FFT-CW Team Leader and broader team, with access to structured training, supervision, consultation and ongoing practice development.
About you
You will bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
Relevant experience working with children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability
Strong engagement, assessment and therapeutic intervention skills
Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection systems and statutory frameworks




The ability to work autonomously while working within a structured therapeutic model
Strong organisational, time management and documentation skills
Experience or training in family systems theory and/or cognitive behavioural therapy is desirable
A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and strengths-based practice
Experience working within FFT-CW will be highly regarded, however is not essential as training and ongoing support will be provided.
What you will do
As an FFT-CW Therapist, you will:
Complete assessments and establish first contact with families within required timeframes
Develop, implement and review FFT-CW treatment and phase plans
Deliver home-based therapeutic sessions in accordance with FFT-CW model fidelity requirements
Work collaboratively with families to support engagement, behaviour change and generalisation
Complete required outcome measures, including NCFAS and CSS measures
Maintain accurate and timely case documentation
Work collaboratively with Child Protection, DFFH and other relevant services
Identify and elevate safety, risk and practice concerns appropriately
Participate in FFT-CW training, supervision, consultation, session recording and quality assurance activities
Contribute to team learning, mentoring and continuous improvement
Support the team and take a leadership role when the Team Leader is on leave
The service operates between
8.00am and 8.00pm
, so flexibility in your start and finish times is required to meet the needs of children, young people and families.
