West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 Km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
More than two thirds of the region's population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations.
Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards withmany popular tourist destinations.
About the role
The Learning and Development Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, sourcing, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary learning and development programs that support strategies aimed at building capability of West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) employees
About you
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Education and/or high-level training
experience in a similar organisation
Demonstrated experience in human resources in a learning and development role,
encompassing the responsibility for design and delivery of learning activities.
Excellent communication and negotiating skills including the ability to influence senior




stakeholders and to communicate with a cross-cultural workforce.
Accomplished presentation and facilitation skills.
Knowledge and experience in applying Australian Qualifications Framework.
Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills.
Ability to foster a culture of life-long learning.
Strong understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture, living and working in
remote communities and a demonstrated ability to be a valuable a cultural fit for Council.
Qualifications / licences:
a. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** preferred)
b. Current C Class Drivers licence, at a minimum
