Our Spatial & Digital team combines traditional surveying expertise with modern spatial technology to capture, process and transform the physical world into accurate, usable digital information.

We work across a diverse range of projects using 3D laser scanning, reality capture, point cloud processing, mobile mapping, UAV technology and spatial data solutions.

As Geosurv continues to grow, so does our investment in our people and technology. We are now looking for a 3D Scanning Specialist to join the team and help us continue building our capability in this space.

The Opportunity
n
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys being out on site, working with technology and taking ownership of projects from field capture through to final deliverables.
n
You will work across construction, infrastructure, engineering and built-environment projects throughout Sydney, undertaking 3D laser scanning, reality capture, point cloud processing and spatial data production.
n
We are particularly interested in someone with a surveying or geospatial background who understands accuracy, control and QA and wants to develop their career further within 3D scanning and reality capture.

What you will be doing
n
You will be involved across the full scanning workflow, including:
n
n
Undertaking site-based 3D laser scanning and reality capture
n
Capturing, processing and managing point cloud data
n
Producing models, drawings and other project deliverables
n




Establishing and verifying survey control for scanning projects
n
Processing and interpreting scan data using 3D scanning and CAD software
n
Planning and delivering mobile scanning projects
n
Supporting UAV-based projects, including planning, data capture and processing
n
Reviewing project scopes and determining appropriate scanning methodologies
n
Completing QA checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of spatial data
n
Working directly with project teams and clients to understand project requirements
n
Managing project data, documentation and deliverables
n
Identifying smarter and more efficient ways to capture and deliver spatial information.
n

The role also has a strong project focus, with responsibility for understanding client requirements, planning scanning methodologies and ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.

About you
n
We are looking for someone who is technically minded, takes pride in producing accurate work and genuinely enjoys working with spatial technology.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
Experience within surveying, geospatial, 3D scanning or reality capture
n
Practical experience with 3D laser scanners and point cloud data
n
An understanding of survey control and spatial accuracy
n
Experience using relevant 3D scanning, point cloud and/or CAD software
n
Strong computer and data-processing skills
n




Excellent attention to detail and commitment to QA
n
Confidence working both independently in the field and collaboratively with a team
n
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
n
Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients
n
A current Australian Driver's Licence
n
Construction White Card.
n
