This team is helping deliver the next generation of mining technology, bringing together
robotic mining equipment, AI capabilities and state-of-the-art geospatial technology
which will taking running and controlling of mining operations to another.
You'll be working in a highly sophisticated environment where software, data and physical mining equipment come together to provide real-time guidance, tracking, monitoring and supervisory control across mining operations.
This is a
12-month contract chance
requiring you to work
onsite in the office 5 days per week
. While the position is office-based, there is
flexibility around start and finish times
, giving you some flexibility in how you structure your working day.
You'll lead an
Agile Release Train (ART) of approximately six teams and 60 people
, forming part of a broader global technology program involving more than 300 professionals across approximately 25 teams.
The Opportunity
As the
Release Train Engineer
, you'll play a key role in creating alignment, transparency and delivery confidence across your Agile Release Train. You'll work closely with Product Management, Engineering Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, technical leaders and delivery teams to keep priorities aligned, dependencies visible and teams focused on delivering meaningful outcomes.
With multiple teams contributing to the next generation of the product, you'll help coordinate delivery across a complex technology landscape incorporating
robotics, AI, geospatial capabilities, software, data and mining equipment
.
This isn't simply a coordination role. You'll be a trusted delivery partner who can facilitate at scale, coach teams and leaders,



constructively challenge existing ways of working and use data to identify where delivery can be improved.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and facilitate
PI Planning, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops
and other SAFe events
Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, teams and stakeholders in
SAFe, Lean-Agile practices and continuous improvement
Coordinate approximately six Agile teams within your ART
Help drive delivery of
next-generation mining technology incorporating robotics, AI and advanced geospatial capabilities
Partner with Product Management, Engineering Managers and senior stakeholders to align delivery with strategic and customer priorities
Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, blockers and
ROAM activities
Improve visibility and coordination across shared objectives and complex dependencies
Support continuous value delivery across a large-scale mining technology solution
Partner with engineering and technical leaders to promote quality, reliability, predictability and sustainable delivery
Provide clear, data-driven reporting covering delivery progress, ART health, flow, capacity, quality, risks and dependencies
Use delivery metrics, flow data, feedback and retrospectives to identify systemic bottlenecks and drive measurable improvements
Act as a trusted delivery partner, providing clear communication and practical options to support decision‐making
About You
We're looking for someone with significant experience delivering Agile programs at scale who is comfortable working across multiple teams, disciplines and stakeholder groups.
You'll ideally bring:
Extensive experience leading
Agile delivery at scale
Strong knowledge of the
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
and Lean-Agile principles




Experience leading or coordinating multiple Agile teams with significant cross-team dependencies
Excellent facilitation and workshop leadership skills
Strong coaching capability across different Agile roles and levels of seniority
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and conflict resolution skills
Strong analytical skills and confidence using delivery metrics and flow data
The ability to influence outcomes without relying on formal authority
A genuine continuous improvement mindset focused on removing process waste and improving delivery
Highly Regarded
It would be advantageous if you have:
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification
Experience working in large-scale technology environments involving
250+ people
Experience operating across multiple Agile Release Trains or portfolios
Experience with
Azure DevOps, JIRA or equivalent
Exposure to
mining, autonomous or robotic systems, AI, geospatial technology, operational technology, heavy equipment or complex engineering/software environments
