Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking experienced Locum Emergency Medicine Doctors from RMO through to CMO level to provide Emergency Department cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors with Emergency Medicine or Critical Care experience to work in a well-supported ED environment, managing a wide range of acute presentations.
Shifts are available across ad-hoc and block bookings, depending on your availability and experience.
Clinical Environment
You will provide Emergency Department cover within Nepean Blue Mountains LHD.
Broad ED exposure – manage a range of emergency presentations, including trauma, acute medicine and paediatrics
Multiple levels considered – suitable for RMO, SRMO, Registrar and CMO-level doctors
Procedural experience – refine assessment, resuscitation and acute care skills
Supportive team culture – work with medical, nursing and hospital teams with escalation pathways available
Versatile locum options – choose from ad-hoc shifts or block bookings to suit your schedule
Patient Demographic
You will support a broad Emergency Department patient mix, including adults, older patients, paediatric patients, trauma presentations, acute medical cases, mental health presentations, minor injuries and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation, escalation or transfer.
Key Duties
Assess and manage Emergency Department presentations
Provide clinical care within your scope and level of experience
Support patient flow, clinical documentation and handover
Assist with acute presentations,



procedures or escalation as required
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and hospital teams
Requirements
Current AHPRA Registration
Minimum PGY2+ with Emergency Medicine or Critical Care experience
ALS certification required
Australian working rights
Ability to work safely within scope and elevate appropriately
Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
Competitive rates up to $250 per hour, depending on experience
Flexible locum arrangements with ad-hoc and block shifts available
