Key responsibilities
Provide expert advice on heritage management
Conduct assessments of archaeological and cultural heritage sites
Prepare clear, accurate documentation and reports
Review development proposals for heritage impacts
Coordinate and support field investigations
Liaise with clients,
regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best-practice standards
Contribute to heritage conservation strategies
Maintain project records
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate heritage considerations into project planning and delivery
About you
Demonstrated experience in heritage advisory, archaeology, or cultural heritage management, including site assessments and reporting
Strong knowledge of relevant heritage legislation, planning frameworks, and industry standards applicable in Victoria and Australia
Proficiency in research, analysis, and documentation, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with clients, government agencies, Traditional Owners, and community groups
Project coordination abilities, including time management, organisation, and attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects
Capability to work safely and effectively in field environments, including participation in archaeological surveys and site inspections
Relevant tertiary qualification in archaeology, heritage conservation, history, anthropology, or a related discipline
Experience with GIS or spatial data tools, and standard office software, is highly regarded
Commitment to ethical practice, inclusive collaboration, and the respectful treatment of cultural heritage
