The Galway Hooker Irish Pub is looking for an experienced and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation.Located on The Esplanade, just moments from Scarborough Beach, The Galway Hooker is a lively Irish-style pub with a robust local following.
We're known for traditional Irish and pub-style food, Guinness, live music, sport, quiz nights and regular food specials.We're looking for a Head Chef who enjoys being hands-on, knows how to lead a team and can deliver great food consistently across busy services.What you'll be doing:Lead and develop the kitchen teamTake ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operationPlan and manage preparation and serviceMaintain food quality, consistency and presentationManage ordering, stock control, stocktakes and wastageMonitor food costs and kitchen budgetsDevelop and maintain kitchen procedures and standardsManage food safety, hygiene and complianceTrain and support the kitchen teamWork closely with the Venue Manager and wider leadership teamBe hands-on and lead by example during serviceWhat we're looking for:Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head ChefStrong background in Irish,



European or quality pub-style cookingProven experience leading and developing a kitchen teamStrong time management and organisational skillsHands-on approach and willingness to get involved in every part of the kitchenCalm and confident under pressureStrong understanding of food safety, stock control and kitchen costsReliable, proactive and able to take ownershipWhy join The Galway Hooker?
