Murrumbidgee LHD is offering rewarding ED locum placements for RMOs, Senior Registrars and Consultants across its well‐resourced hospitals.
Whether you are seeking supervised RMO shifts or senior in‐charge opportunities, you will gain valuable exposure to a wide range of emergency presentations, team environments and regional hospital settings.
These roles are suited to doctors looking for flexible locum work, solid clinical exposure and the chance to contribute to communities that value experienced Emergency Medicine support.
Clinical Environment
You will work across regional Emergency Department settings within Murrumbidgee LHD, with opportunities available at different levels of seniority.
Wide case variety
– gain exposure to trauma, resus, paediatrics, mental health and cardiac cases
Layered support
– RMOs work under clear supervision, while senior doctors access remote or onsite FACEM support

– electronic medical records, structured triage and established escalation pathways

Patient Demographic
You will support a broad Emergency Department patient mix, including adults, older patients, families, paediatric presentations, trauma, mental health, cardiac cases and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation, escalation or transfer.
Key Duties
Assess and manage ED presentations within your scope
Support patient flow, triage and treatment planning
Participate in resus,



trauma and acute care where appropriate
Escalate complex or deteriorating patients appropriately
Work collaboratively with nursing, retrieval and on‐call teams
Provide supervision or leadership where required for senior roles
Requirements
AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
PGY2+ with Emergency Medicine experience for RMO roles
PGY5+ for in‐charge or senior roles
NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing

Referral Program
Also, if locum work isn't for you at the moment but you know another doctor who may be interested, we do have a referral program. Successful referrals can receive a $1,100 prepaid gift card for non‐specialist doctors, or $1,600 for specialist/consultant referrals, once the referred doctor has completed the required shifts.
