LS TRADING MECHANICAL & ENGINEERING PTY LTD / TYREPLUS GLADSTONE is seeking an experienced and qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join the team in a full-time permanent position. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to a high qualified and safety standard.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
n
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspecting parts for wear or damage.
n
Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
n
Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups.
n
Reassembling engines and vehicle components after repairs have been completed.
n
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance and safe operation.
n




Diagnosing and testing vehicle systems and components with the assistance of computers and diagnostic equipment.
n
Inspecting vehicles and identifying work required to achieve safe and roadworthy operating condition.
n
Responding to vehicle breakdowns and carrying out repairs where required.
n
Maintaining a clean and safe workshop and complying with workplace health and safety requirements.

About you
n
n
Proven experience working as a Motor Mechanic.
n
Relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification.
n
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
n
Experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of motor vehicles.
n
Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
n
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
n
Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
n
Current driver's licence or ability to meet the driving requirements of the role.
