About the Role
n
MacKellar is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Rebuilder / Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our mining maintenance team.
n You'll be responsible for the rebuild, overhaul, repair and testing of Caterpillar (CAT) diesel engines used across heavy mining equipment, including haul trucks, dozers, loaders and excavators.
n Key Responsibilities

Complete CAT diesel engine rebuilds, overhauls and repairs.
n




Diagnose and troubleshoot engine faults.
n
Disassemble, inspect, repair and replace engine components.
n
Reassemble engines to Caterpillar specifications.
n
Conduct testing, adjustments and quality checks following rebuilds.
n
Maintain accurate maintenance and rebuild records.
n
Work with the maintenance team to prioritise rebuilds around equipment availability and downtime.
n
Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.
n

What You'll Need
n
n
Mechanical trade qualification, preferably Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Fitter.
n
Post-trade experience in engine rebuilding, mining or heavy mobile equipment.
n
Experience with Caterpillar / CAT diesel engines.
n
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
n
Experience using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical
manuals/schematics.
n
Solid commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
